Night School: “Medicinal Herbs”
Led by Kyle Denton of Tippecanoe Herbs & Apothecary
7pm / 21+ / Free
Medicinal plants are everywhere. Any place can be a wild place if it has the chance. What is medicine and what is a weed? Or how can it’s virtues be known? Plants are as great teachers as they are healers. Join us for a presentation on herbal medicine, it’s future, present and lore in this roving Night School that will take you outside to Garden Park (you can bring your drinks) and back into the Public House to examine plants.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Kyle Denton is a community herbalist — founder of Tippecanoe Herbs. Through his work he creates medicine from local plants. He has been guiding herb walks in Milwaukee since 2012. For the last two summers you could find his stand at the Riverwest Gardeners Market. Kyle and his wife Serena run Tippecanoe Herbs & Apothecary
in Walker's Point.
ABOUT NIGHT SCHOOL:
Night School, developed for the Riverwest Public House Cooperative in 2011, is a series of conversations relevant to Milwaukee and beyond. Night School is an environment for critical dialogue, presentations, films, and more in a social space. We aim to bridge the gap between academics and activism through the speakers we invite and to foster community engagement and activism. Night School is always free and open to the public (21+). Paul Kjelland, Tea Krulos, and Kelly Todd are currently co-curating Night School programming. If you have suggestions for future Night School subjects or guest presenters, please email us at [email protected]
