FCS will conclude its concert season with "Kids Play for Kids Pajama Jamboree," a free concert on Wed., May 16, 2018, at 7:00 pm in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
The program will include "It’s a Small World" (arr. Chase), Gould’s "American Salute," Ward’s "America the Beautiful," and Bernstein’s "Selections from West Side Story." In addition to music by the FCS orchestra, the concert will feature solo and ensemble pieces performed by local students. The concert will close with the popular Festival City Symphony tradition of young audience members conducting the orchestra’s finale, Sousa’s "Stars and Stripes."
Attendees should en...ter through the main entrance on 929 N. Water Street. If they park in the Marcus Center lot, they are welcome to use the third level skywalk, which opens at 6:00 pm.
All “Pajama Jamboree” concerts have free admission. Music Director Emeritus Monte Perkins conducts the Pajama Jamboree series and Jayne Perkins hosts these popular programs that engage audiences and welcome children, parents, and grandparents to attend in casual dress or pajamas. The audience is invited to bring a blanket and sit on the floor, up close to “meet” the orchestra. Conventional seating is also available. Pajama Jamborees are best suited for children in K4 through fifth grade.
Milwaukee’s Festival City Symphony, the oldest performing symphony orchestra in the area, showcases area professional musicians.
