In support of National Walk Out Day, we're providing a place for the community to walk IN to. From 9am to 9pm we'll have live music, local inspirational speakers and open workshops going on in hopes to bring the community together through creativity and to provide an inspirational and healing space.
Our schedule so far includes…
On The Waxwing Stage:
9am-Sarah Kirkham & Anna Warren from the local brand Tactile Craftworks will be talking about their experiences as local makers.
10am-We'll observe 17 minutes of reflection for each of the victims of the Parkland, Florida shooting & have coloring pages available from Milwaukee's own The Tarot Lady's Tarot coloring book to color while we reflect.
11am-Local maker & yoga instructor, Heidi Parkes will guide us in yoga
12pm-Waxwing's very own Eston Bennett will take the stage to provide us with some live folk songs
1pm- Courage MKE will be talking to us about their mission in Milwaukee advocating for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and assisting with our city's homeless youth.
1:30pm-Shay Fike will discuss ways to prevent bullying and how to find your own voice.
2pm-Live music provided by local musician, John Hayward Williams
3pm-Renowned Milwaukee artist, Reginald Baylor of Baylor Productions will be speaking about arts in education.
4pm-Local makers and all around awesome ladies Artery Ink will be talking about their experience as artists & business owners.
4:30pm-Brooke Talbot from REDgen will talk about this organization that advocates for the mental health and well being of all youth.
5pm-Milwaukee's own Matthew Davies will be performing.
6pm-Local illustrator Tim Demeter will talk about his experience growing up in Waukesha, Wisconsin and finding his voice
6:30 pm-Local maker Rachaad Howard will talk about his business Rep Wisconsin Apparel and Gifts
7pm-9pm-Open Stage, we welcome you to come and perform on The Waxwing stage. Original songs, music, poetry, etc are all welcome! Sign up will start at 6:30.

9am-leather scrap craft with Jess Goehner of Directive Made
10am-Jenna Miller of Mostly Owls by Jenna will be leading a shrinky dink pin making workshop
11am- CIVAL Collective will guide us in a Jewelry Making workshop
12pm-Patch/Mending workshop with local maker Heidi Parkes
1pm-3pm-we'll be painting flower pots & planting flowers with help from local peace garden organizer Camille Mays
3pm-Rubik's Cube Clinic with one of our favorite workshop hosts, Levi Edler
4pm- Molly Snyder from OnMilwaukee will be doing tarot readings
5pm-Local Maker Jess Hoffman will be guiding an open workshop in the art of collage
6pm-Open Coloring featuring coloring pages from local artists
7pm-Screenprinting workshop with Rachaad Howard of Rep Wisconsin Apparel and Gifts
7:30-9pm- Renee Bebeau will be set up in the shop doing henna for anyone who is interested!
15% of all of our sales on this day will be donated to REDgen
All workshops are free and open to the public on a first come, first serve basis
All day long we'll be accepting donations for Courage MKE's Courage Kits!
We'll also be featuring an in-shop installation of a large print of Milwaukee's Heart by Artery Ink and invite the community to come and color it with us.
