Join us for an event in support of the March 14th National School Walkout. On that day, we'll make meeting space available to students and have volunteers and community resources from organizations, including Moms Demand Action — WI, ACLU of Wisconsin, Youth Empowered in the Struggle -YESAlverno and Leaders Igniting Transformation about ways that students can amplify their voices, contact their legislators and be aware of their rights while expressing themselves. Organizers for future actions, including the March 24th march in Milwaukee, will also be available if you'd like to get involved.
This event is free and open to the public. Although focused on student support, we welcome parents, guardians and other allies as well.
As a token of support to student activists, in response to the School District of Waukesha (and other districts) threatening students for participating in civil, protected speech, we are also offering a free wristband (for this day or a future visit) to any student who is disciplined by their school for a related action on March 14th or one of the future days of action. Just show us your notice of detention, suspension, or other discipline, and we'll have one for you *and* your accompanying parent or guardian.
