Clocking in at just over five hours, Fanny & Alexander is Ingmar Bergman’s warmest and most autobiographical piece. Originally conceived as a television mini-series, it is one of the longest cinematic films in history. Presented through the eyes of 10-year-old Alexander, the film explores the ins and outs of an emotionally distant Swedish family at the turn of the 20th century. Winner of four Academy Awards, Fanny & Alexander is an intensely joyous and triumphant vision realized.
