April 11 — Seed Selection and Veggie Gardening
April 18 — Pollinators and How to Support them
April 25 — Planting Containers
Get ready for spring planning and planting with this series of useful gardening topics presented by the SouthEast WI Master Gardeners! Presentations are open to all, and appropriate for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.
Pollinators drive seed and food production throughout the world, but their numbers are declining with loss of habitat and increases in pests, diseases and pesticides. Find out how you can help local pollinators by adding plants attractive to pollinators and supporting their life cycles in your gardens.
Presenter Jennifer Lazewski is a Southeast Wisconsin Master Gardener Volunteer working with UW-Extension and the founder of its Pollinator Group. An experienced butterfly and hummingbird gardener who hosted a rare Anna’s hummingbird in 2016, she is now focusing her efforts on the many native bees that increasingly visit her small, urban Wauwatosa yard. After learning about the crucial role that bees play in the local ecosystem and local food movement, she is dedicated to bringing university-based research on bees and other pollinators to the community.
All proceeds support FBBG and SEWMG.
