Alfred Hitchcock’s spy film-noir, Notorious, has been referred to as the film that marked his filmic growth in maturity. With two scenes that are historically some of the filmmaker’s best work, and with its preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress, Notorious is classic cinema in its purest form. The film features a star-studded cast, including timely idols such as Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, and Claude Rains.
