Join Angela for a two hour practice to rest, rejuvenate, and restore. It will start with a restorative yoga practice and end with yoga nidra. A restorative practice utilizing props such as blocks, blankets, bolsters, and straps to support the body in each pose. Each posture is held anywhere from 2-10 minutes with deep breath awareness to oxygenate the body. During these long holds, your muscles relax deeply, while the props provide the body with the necessary support to allow space for the tissues to safely lengthen. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep guides us to a space between wakefulness and sleep. Using relaxation and visualization techniques, the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of his or her internal world by following a set of verbal instructions. It is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. Restorative yoga and yoga nidra is for everyone regardless of age, physical ability, religion, or beliefs. Yogis of all levels are encouraged to attend and will leave feeling well-rested and rejuvenated.
