The band is the brainchild of Midwest native, Mark Poe. Poe sought players to hone in on what was originally a unique fusion of surf punk and prog rock. He met drummer, Bob Schaab, at MATC, where the two attended music school studying theory and jazz. After a series of lineup changes, they met Chris Liska through music school, who then hopped on the bass guitar just before they went on a 6-week US trek along the east coast and Gulf-area in support of their debut full-length album, Shapes and Colors. The Directionals quickly garnered attention not only in their hometown of Milwaukee, such as on WMSE's «Local Live» segment and MPTV, but internationally, being featured on Indie Rock Cafe and on various radio stations on the West Coast and in the UK. Within a year of their debut album, the band put out their sophomore effort, Omni, a full-length LP atop a two-song B-side EP and a stand alone single.
The band put out the first installment of their two-part EP «Circle of Gods» in April of 2017. You can check it out here:
Jesse W. Johnson
Jesse W. Johnson plays hooky-yet-dark rock & roll with the tiniest little twinge of country twang. Johnson is a veteran of the Chicago scene, having reached local acclaim fronting Jet W. Lee, and his experience is immediately apparent upon first listen. As a solo artist, Johnson presents tight, muscular songcraft with beautiful melodies and surprisingly dark lyrics. Most of all, Johnson does something not so common today, tell a story, and it’s thoughtful word choice in his music that helps the listener personalize each song. Jesse is touring the country this summer in support of his 2nd full-length album, American Dumpster.

The Peekaboos are a four piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Chicago, IL. The Peekaboos, being musicians have also drawn similarities to the historical fool performer. Being ones who are here to amuse, but also criticize and deliver the harsh truths that drive us to insanity if not delivered so comically.
