Boswell presents an encore appearance by Evelyn Perry, whose «Live and Let Live» looks at the unique Milwaukee neighborhood of Riverwest. Our first event with Woodland Pattern was so successful that we had to turn away attendees. We're so excited that this event will have Perry in conversation with Mitch Teich, executive producer of WUWM's «Lake Effect.»

Here's more about the book. While conventional wisdom asserts that residential racial and economic integration holds great promise for reducing inequality in the United States, Americans are demonstrably not very good at living with difference. Perry's analysis of the multiethnic, mixed-income Milwaukee community of Riverwest, where residents maintain relative stability without insisting on conformity, advances our understanding of why and how neighborhoods matter.

Evelyn M. Perry received her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Sociology, Indiana University. Perry is on the Sociology faculty at Rhodes College, located in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mitch Teich is the Executive Producer of Lake Effect. He brings over 25 years of broadcasting experience from radio stations across the country and has won many awards from the Radio Television News Directors Association and Public Radio News Directors Inc.
