Co-founder of Call & Response—a dynamic of Black women & performance—as well as the avant-garde poetry/performance trio the Black Took Collective (BTC), DURIEL E. HARRIS is author of three poetry collections including the 2015 Nightboat Poetry Prize winning volume No Dictionary of a Living Tongue. A MacDowell and Millay Colony fellow, Harris has received grants from the Illinois Arts Council, the Cave Canem Foundation, and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Editor of Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora, Harris is an associate professor of English in the Graduate Creative Writing Program at Illinois State University.

ABAYOMI ANIMASHAUN is a Nigerian émigré, who came to the United States in the mid 1990s. He holds an MFA from the International Writing Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a PhD from the University of Kansas. His poems have appeared in several print and online journals. A recipient of the Hudson Prize and a grant from the International Center for Writing and Translation, Abayo is the author of two poetry collections, Sailing for Ithaca and The Giving of Pears, and editor of two anthologies, Walking the Tightrope: Poetry and Prose by LGBTQ Writers from Africa and Others Will Enter the Gates: Immigrant Poets on Poetry, Influences, and Writing in America. He teaches writing and literature at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.

NICK DEMSKE lives in Racine, Wisconsin and works at the Racine Public Library. His self-titled manuscript was selected by Joyelle McSweeney for the 2010 Fence Modern Poets Series Award and was published by Fence Books. He also had a chapbook, “Skeetly Deetly Deet,” published by Strange Cage Press in 2012. His second book is forthcoming from Fence in 2017. Nick was featured in 2011 as one of fifteen emerging poets to watch by Poets & Writers magazine and his book was chosen as one of the 10 Best Books of Poetry in 2010 by a Believer Magazine reader survey. Nick curates the BONK! performance series in Racine.
